The caged bird

Hear my cries,
Set me free….
This cage is not
Where I’m supposed to be

Let me fly
In the open sky,
For I did no crime
To stay here inside

To you,
My chirping may sound sweet
But for me,
It is agony that comes out of my beak

My pleas go unheard,
And my tears unseen,
Yet I carry a soul
That is wise, hopeful and serene

I may be small,
My wings may not be strong
But someday I’ll reach the sky,
‘cos that’s where I belong!!!!

Just a lovely poem…I love your personification of the bird…I certain they must be saying something like that…Cheers!

That’s probably exactly how a cage bird feels! Lord knows it must be cramped it a cage for a free spirit that is capable of flying.

I know….people do anything and everything to dominate over those less powerful than them just because they can. That’s very sad!!! Thank you for stopping by!

Could a nature lover ask for a better advocate? U have penned it so touchingly, any stone would be moved! Alas, there are many a stones who only pelt themselves at these poor creaures! Tell me, if I could share ur link at our vegan groups on fb?
